The technology of Professional Lighting has come! LED (L.E.D.) is now the new future of DJ LIGHTING. We at 800 Car Stereo are proud to introduce a wide range of Professional LED Lighting. Here are some key points of this new technology:
LED instruments can contain a number of different coloured LEDs, often Red, Green and Blue, and different light output colours can be achieved by adjusting the intensity of each LED color group. LED instruments should have a long service life relative to other options, without the expense of colour gel or replacement lamps.
LED instruments are increasingly used for live music events, most notably festivals where they are more visible than conventional lighting under day light. LED instruments were prominently used for the ‘live earth’ festival as they are regarded as more environmentally friendly as fixture for fixture they use far less power than other lighting.
Another advantage of LED instruments is that they can be controlled directly using DMX and do not require additional dimmers; the intensity of the LEDs being adjusted by circuitry onboard the fixture. Because of their low power consumption several units can be daisy chained to one power supply.
Due to low heat output, LED instruments can be used in areas where the high amount of heat conventional stage fixtures put off would not be ideal. For this reason, LED instruments are used to light ice sculptures, especially when lighting the sculptures from within.
Since 2005 the debut of iPod connectivity launched in CES, manufacturers have come a long way, especially with the iPhone and the iPad products in the picture, they are really pushing the limits in car stereo features.
Many of them take advantage of the ports used to connect CD changers to a head unit. That often makes for a low cost connection to your iPod, and usually means the iPod will charged while it’s plugged into your car, but generally means much of your ID3 tag data won’t be displayed on the screen. It also means you’ll have to learn and use combination’s of the buttons on the head unit to navigate your tunes.
That experience varies considerably… in most cases, CD changer adapters for the iPod ‘flatten’ its file structure into one long list of songs. That can make for quite a bit of skipping forward to get to a song you want to hear! If you’re thinking about buying one of these head units, make sure it features some ability to use playlists and search by artist, album or song title, and that it’s not to annoying to use regularly. Otherwise you’ll be listening to the first few tunes every time you get into your car if you’re not willing to skip forward a few hundred tunes!
iPhone, iPod, iPad and other AUDIO / VIDEO players are now the future to our listing devices! Car Stereo has now changed, it’s only 2010, just imagine what the future holds for us.

Remember the “Club”. It was a large piece of metal with two hooks on it that you could stretch across your steering wheel to prevent car thieves from driving away with your vehicle. Advertised as unbreakable, the Club helped to prevent thefts of vehicles that no one really wanted to steal. If you put one on a car that would bring a car thief a healthy profit they would simply remove the steering wheel and replace it with another one before driving away. The whole process takes less than two minutes for a pro.
In the seventies and eighties car security systems became more sophisticated. Kill switches had been around for a few years but they became far more popular when equipped with a key or combination locks that when tampered with would cause an alarm to go off. This worked for a while until the car thieves caught up once again and started cutting the alarm wires before starting the vehicle. Knowing how they were connected was all they needed to steal a vehicle in matter of seconds.
The kill switch and car alarm eventually gave way to the newer technology of the lojack, a tracking device that could be used to find the car after it was stolen. This is great for recovery of your property but won’t prevent damage or that aggravation you experience when you walk out the front door in the morning to find your ride to work is gone. In the nineties and the early part of this century, lojack technology has been combined with security that shuts a car down if someone tampers with the ignition.
Of course, preventing someone from stealing your car is only part of the problem you have if you live in a high crime area. Your car stereo is more attractive to a thief in many ways because it is small, easy to carry away, and can be removed in a matter of a few minutes if not installed properly. This concern has led to better door locks, alarms that sound when someone gets too close to a vehicle and removable faceplates on the stereos themselves. What’s next? Ejection seats for unauthorized drivers would probably be a great deterrent. Wouldn’t that be nice?
For those of you who have heard all of the technical terms used when describing speaker systems and really have no clue what any of them mean we would like to offer a simple explanation that will help you purchase the home speakers you need to produce not only loud music but also clear sound. One is no good with out the other. If you raise the volume of a sound that is not clear you’ll just be making the distortion louder and putting your speakers at risk of malfunctioning.
Clear sound with significant volume comes from having the ability to produce a wide range of notes from high to low. The component of a speaker that generates the low notes and bass lines is called a woofer or subwoofer. The high sounds come from a “tweeter” and with more expensive speakers you’ll also see what is called a “mid-range” to cover those sounds that are neither high nor low, but somewhere in between.
The quality of these components determines the capacity of your speakers to produce loud and clear music. When you design a home entertainment system for your living room you may want to purchase the subwoofers separately and possibly use what they call crossovers for midrange, which are common in concert level speaker systems. If you are serious about your sound you’ll check into all options and buy only the very best.
Size is not indicative of power when it comes to speakers. Some of the clearest speakers with the highest ranges are small enough to fit on top of a small table or mount on a wall where they will be almost invisible to guests. This miniaturization technology is what makes the manufacture of powerful car speakers possible that can project the same level of sound that any home speakers can. While you’re shopping around for that home stereo system you might want to check into what’s available for the automobile.
If you have a favorite song you will almost always want to turn up the volume on the radio when it comes on. Have you ever heard it from speakers that provide a full range of sound? Chances are, unless you’ve already invested in a high quality sound system, you have never heard the “full” version of your music. Once you do you’ll understand why speaker technology is so complex.
Does size really matter? With a plasma TV it does, in more ways than one. It’s difficult to find smaller models fewer than 37 inches wide and the extra large ones over 60 inches can be really expensive. Your best bet is something in the middle, a brand name model that you can count on to be reliable and something that is new which will prevent burn in on the screen that comes from projecting a constant image like a stock ticker or sports scores updates. This early defect in plasma screens is less common today might still be present if you buy a cheap model.
There are countless no-name brands of plasma and LCD TV’s out there that come with attractive price tags and poor technology. When it comes to a big screen TV you get what you pay for, like with most electronic equipment. You may occasionally see a brand name unit on sale but if you look to save money by buying something you’ve never heard of before, you’re going to regret it down the line. The number of TV and stereo manufacturers that have come out of obscurity to be successful is significantly less than the number of companies that have crashed and burned.
The price difference between a 50 inch plasma TV and a 60 inch plasma TV can be as much as $1500 or more. When you get over 60 inches you’ll be making an investment of over $5000 in the centerpiece of your home entertainment system. It’s worthwhile if you have the space that can handle it but you should ask yourself if you need that much TV or if you just want to have the biggest set on your block. Either line of reasoning is okay. Just make sure you know what your motives are before you spend the money.
A 48 to 52 inch screen will give you a sharp picture and a large enough image for any room in any normal house. You’re looking at an investment of about $3500 for it, which will leave you plenty to purchase the DVD player and home speakers to create a surround sound environment for family movie watching. With brand new plasma TV’s you can even hook up your computer and video game system, giving you complete home entertainment and recreation in a room you won’t want to leave.
Home speakers are not an item that you want to choose solely by the price that you pay for them. If you’re looking for bargain basement pricing you will most likely get bargain basement sound. If you’re serious about your music you’ll want to spend a little extra on this component of your home stereo system to make sure the sounds of your favorite artists come alive when you tune in to them. You want to hear the music clearly and you want to feel the beat deep inside when you turn the volume up. That’s how you know you have the right speakers to go with your stereo system.
They say that two things you should never skimp on are your shoes and your mattress, because you spend most of your life on one or the other. If you love music you’ll want to add your speakers to that list. Those of you who need a beat to keep moving throughout the day don’t want to listen to distortion so you’ll need to have good speakers that will pick up all of the elements of the music you love. That means you need to listen to as many different models as possible before you purchase home or car speakers.
What kind of music do you listen to? Hip hop, country, rock, classical, and pop music all have different beats and arrangements but all have one thing in common, a need to be heard through quality speakers to ensure maximum appreciation from the listener. Have you ever heard a song on a mediocre sound system and then heard it again later on a really good sound system? The difference is amazing. It’s almost as if you’re listening to an entirely different piece of music.
Once you’ve picked out a top quality set of speakers for your home stereo you’ll be spoiled and need to upgrade the sound of your car stereo. The factory system just doesn’t have enough intensity for your needs once you’ve experienced what real sound can do for you. The music needs to come alive and that requires better speakers. Spend some time browsing for the right model and spend some decent money on them if you want to get top quality sound.
The term “home entertainment center” has been overused in recent years and brings up images of expensive equipment, big screen TV’s, and surround sound that seems far too complex for the average consumer to digest in one sitting. If you’re shopping for home electronics you’ll want to step back, take a deep breath, and try not to overwhelm yourself with all of the choices you have in front of you. There is a sensible system for furnishing your home with television and stereo equipment and following it will make your shopping experience more enjoyable and fulfilling.
Begin with the big items. Don’t even think about surround sound until you’ve selected a TV that will look good in the room you want to put it in and give you that high quality picture that will help you enjoy the modern films of today. HD is becoming pretty common so you are better off buying an HD plasma TV. In the near future every channel will have high definition programming so purchasing anything else makes no sense. There are a number of manufacturers who make quality HDTV’s and their surprisingly light and portable, even the big screens.
Next on the list will be your stereo receiver. The HDTV will have a great picture so you need to have super sound to go along with it. Choose a receiver than can handle the surround sound speakers you want to install later on. You don’t have to buy everything today but make sure that each new addition to your home entertainment system is compatible not only with what you already have but also with what you plan on getting later on. There’s no sense in having to upgrade again when you make that next move.
Your DVD player can double as a CD player so there’s no need to buy both. An iPod connection will be helpful to your receiver since digital music is easy and affordable to download and can provide you with endless variety. Once you get these items in place you can start to look for home speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers if you want to get that real movie theatre experience. Before you know it you’ll have the entertainment center you thought would be really difficult to put together.
Alpine? Sony? JVC? Kenwood? Legacy? Who is really the best out there? Maybe it’s Bose, or Panasonic, or perhaps Pioneer. The truth is that they all offer something to the individual shopper that might not be apparent to someone else. Car stereo systems, like those who listen to them, all offer something different. They will also vary in degrees of quality based on what kind of car they are installed in and what kind of speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, and other peripherals are added to them.
Stating that one particular brand is better than any other is unfair to the manufacturers and would be purely a matter of personal taste and opinion. There are some companies that use more expensive components than other companies but that does not necessarily mean that the stereos they manufacture are “better” or that the sound which comes out of them will be more pleasing to the listener,
Some systems handle bass better, but it’s the car speakers that dictate that, not the receivers. Take a JVC receiver and CD player and hook it up to first Bose and then Alpine speakers and you will get a different kind of sound out of each. Determining which of those sounds is “better” will up to whoever is going to be listening to the system most often. Ask fifty people and twenty five of them will tell you they like the Alpines while the other twenty five will say the Bose speakers are better.
Another factor to take into account when buying a car stereo system is the type of music that you listen to. If you like a deep base line you might want to invest in some subwoofers. If you prefer acoustics perhaps higher quality tweeters might be something you want to look into. Once again, there is no way of saying which receiver, CD player, amp, subwoofer, tweeter, and speakers will be the best fit for you. You have to listen to them to figure that out.
Once you know which system is best for you order it all right here and pay less than you will at any retail location. That sound that you are looking for is just a few clicks away. We don’t just carry the best car stereo equipment on the market; we carry your best car stereo, the one that you prefer over all others, not because someone told you to buy it but because you listened to it and liked it.
